Whoever heard of selling your virginity?

Natalie Dylan, a 22 year old San Diego native has come up with a surprising way to pay for her college, she's selling her virginity. I had never heard of this before I saw an episode on her on VH1 a few weeks ago, I was interested to find out if this was even legal. When speaking of "Standardized Beauty" this girl seems to have it all. She's a pretty, caucasion woman, who seems to have new bidders all the time. I give her props for keeping her viriginity for 22 years, but this is so degrading to women. In my opinion, she seems a lot sluttier than someone who is not a virgin. Is this what the media wants? Girls selling their virginity? According to "The Insider" Her current bid is around 3.7 million dollars, and over 10,000 men have been interested in her proposition. The money that she's going to make when she picks the "right" guy is going to be tremendous. Not to mention the fact that all the stations that are covering this media controversy, such as CNN, the Tyra show and many others are making a lump sum as well. She's pumping this for all that she's worth and she won't stop til the bids get higher. I think it's interesting that she has a degree in women's studies, one might think she would know better. I found a flyer online which is interesting. How much money do you really want before you're satisified? This is taking away the special, intimate moment of "making love" which is now converted to "selling your virginity to the highest bidder". In my opinion, she's the same as a prostitute. Which is funny because apparently no one can do anything about this issue.

  1. A part of me thinks that this is ridiculous and I couldnt even imagine this actually happening. What kind of woman would sell something so personal that is supposed to be shared with someone you love?
But another part is thinking, if a woman wants to make money that badly, then thats a creative way to do it.

  2. I totally agree with Skye this is a major problem and I don't understand why any women would ever want to ruin their reputation as a women. We all know that women have their special wants and needs but it should never come down to this. It should be illegal for women to do this.

  4. This is ridiculous how some women would do anything for money. Having your virginity is something very special and money can’t buy you another one. Life is about choices you make and I don’t think what she’s doing is right and someone needs to knock some sense into her head. No wonder men degrade us and talk badly about us, it’s because women like that make us all look bad. So many women do stuff like that to become noticed and famous but it’s so sad how they don’t see themselves doing wrong.

  5. Wow this is some of the craziest stuff I have seen. Eventually there should be a point where someone says no you just can't do that. I mean this is prostitution. Mind you I don't know what the laws on prostitution are in California, but most states really frown on it. So how can this girl just sell her body to the highest bidder and not face any repercussions. I just don't get how someone could do this.

  6. I am completely blown away. I agree- this screams prostitution. The attention she is getting for being a virgin is a little over the top. This is degrading and brings an inappropriate meaning to the word "virgin". She is putting a price on her virginity therefore setting the example to younger girls that virgins have become a sex object. Virginity is supposed to be pure and genuine- not something to auction off! What a disgusting example she is setting for younger girls.
